Ballantyne Hotel “Gallery Restaurant” Hosts The Ballantyne Arts Forum

On Friday night Gallery Restaurant, located in the Ballantyne Hotel, hosted an art show for the Ballantyne Arts Forum. This event was co-sponsored by Ballantyne After Dark and was a great success. A variety of paintings, jewelry and other types of media created by local artist were on display and available for sale. The crowd was casual and hip and after taking in the art show many headed into the Gallery Bar for cocktails and appetizers.

The Ballantyne Arts Forum is a new organization that is committed to bringing cultural events to the South Charlotte area. Ballantyne currently has no performing arts center and very limited gallery space, making it perfect for this type of group. The BAF is a grassroots organization that held their first meeting at the Ballantyne Morrison YMCA in May to what was considered a large crowd. Over 70 people showed up wanting more information on how to help grow this concept proving that residents of Ballantyne are ready and capable of supporting its own thriving arts community.
