So the City of Charlotte is starting another social engineering initiative! Don’t let them do this to you!

You have the legal power to start a voter led referendum to abolish the City of Charlotte. The City exists at the discretion and will of the people to serve the people. The City is under you and you can make it disappear along with all the headaches the City of Charlotte brings each and every one of us.

Do you know that the development company is using tax dollars to fund this project?

In 1987, Congress and President Reagan established the Low Income Housing Tax Credit as an investor subsidy to spur production of low-income housing developments by private investors. These tax credits, funded by YOUR tax dollars, are awarded to investors by state housing agencies through a competitive process based on rules adopted by each state.

Developers build these properties, take the tax credits and then in 30 years sell the buildings at a whopping profit. YOU AND I are funding these developer’s profits with OUR tax dollars thanks to a very misguided “President”.

  • As the founder of the Ballantyne Breakfast Club, I would like to put to rest the rumor that Mayor Foxx was invited to address this meeting on the rezoning. That is incorrect. Mayor Foxx had agreed to speak to the Ballantyne Breakfast Club months ago, before the rezoning came up.

In the past, the Mayor’s address to the Club has been on the subject of the state of Charlotte, and that is what we asked of Mayor Foxx following his election.

There is a process for communication about the rezoning petition, and Saturday’s meeting of the Ballantyne Breakfast Club is not part of that process.

    Dear Ray,

“The Ballantyne Breakfast Club is a group of area business leaders and residents that meet regularly to discuss area development” – that is what we are going to do, since the new development is coming!!! That is what we- residents are going to discuss, because the re-zoning project is in none of our visions!

  • Dear Relocated….as it turns out the meeting has been cancelled due to the weather. I agree with what you posted about the purpose of the BBC meetings. We do and have for almost 10 years responded to community issues by scheduling meetings addressing those issues. We have a history of special meetings mostly on matter related to school assignments and roads involving CDOT and NCDOT roads. With regard to this specific meeting which again was scheduled months ago and prior to the rezoning issue it is our yearly presentation by the Mayor on the State of Charlotte. We’ve had these State of Charlotte presentations for years and they have always been among our best attended meetings. At the conclusion of those presentations the Mayor always sets aside time for Q&A. In the past as it would have been for this meeting that is the time when people have the opportunity to share their concerns on issues like the rezoning. My posting was an attempt to explain that the Mayor was not coming strictly to address the rezoning but to first give his State of Charlotte address. Hope this helps to clear things up.
