You're right - CHILD pedophiles use those as excuses. But did you know an 18 year old male having sex with his 16 year old girlfriend is put on the list? A man that pulls a college prank and streaks across his college campus is put on the list. Sadly I know two people in those situations. One man is on the list and has been for almost TEN YEARS. He is now MARRIED and has two children with the woman that he was accused of "violating" because he was 19 and she was 16, almost 17. Granted it was a bad decision but still - the SO registration system is broken. It is great when it works as intended but there are way too many people that are "stuck" in the system needlessly.
