I am pleased to announce the addition of Lorayn DeLuca as contributing photojournalist to The Ballantyne Scoop and our entire Scoop Network of community websites.
Lorayn is a familiar face around Union County and Charlotte. A professional photographer, Lorayn documents many local events through the lenses of her camera.
Lorayn has a deep history in photography. She studied photojournalism in college and managed a portrait studio in Hawaii. Lorayn is also an accomplished actress having walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
Lorayn holds a Masters Degree in HRM/Organizational Development and has served as a New York State Certified Police Instructor. Before moving to the Charlotte area, Lorayn was the Director of Human Resources for the NYC Department of Education.

Today, she owns a small digital inventory business www.imagesecurity.biz.
Lorayn’s work can be seen in galleries with the Guild of Charlotte Artists at the Art House in NODA where she recently won a distinguished Photography Award from a juried show. Her work can also be seen at Ageless Remedies Southpark Spa, and with the Mint Hill Arts Gallery. Her photographs have been published in several magazines, including the national Woman’s World, and will be featured in the 2010 Town Planner Calendar for Union County. Currently Lorayn is co-authoring a tips book about organization and inspiring people to take action with the things they don’t want to do.
