The lower elementary classes are organizing a drive to collect crutches and canes to help victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. Sandy Craig, a local physician and Omni parent, will be traveling to Haiti with a Charlotte-based medical relief team that will include doctors, nurses, and paramedics. People from around the world have been sending food, water, and other supplies, however due to the large number of fractures, breaks and other such injuries, a great need exists for walking implements.
We will be collecting these items and will continue through next Wednesday (1/26). If you wish to participate and do not have any of these items, you can make a monetary donation (check made out to Omni with “Haiti Relief” on memo line). If you wish to donate your time to this drive, contact Portia Williams (portia.williams@omni-montessori.org). Hand-made “Get Well” cards and ribbon are also welcome. All donations may be dropped off in the main office.
