Charlotte, NC – Warren Cooksey was recently re-elected to his second term on the term on the the Charlotte City Council for District 7. District 7 includes the Ballantyne, NC area where he was elected by a wide margin. He chairs the Restructuring Government Committee and is a member of the Housing and Neighborhood Development and Transportation and Planning Committees. He is an ardent opponent of any stimulus money being accepted and or spent on any Charlotte projects, consistently voting against any use of federal stimulus monies.
Councilman Warren Cooksey is now in a minority with the the new leadership team that has taken office. The majority of the City Council and now the Mayor of Charlotte, Anthony Foxx, are Democrats. How this new and interesting dynamic shape the future of Charlotte is yet to be known.
